Creating a room and starting a game

The host creates the room and shares access with the other players. No account or installation is required. Each player joins from a phone or browser, enters a nickname, and receives a private game view after the host starts.

Create the room

Choose Create a room on the home page and enter a nickname. The site creates a lobby and makes that first player the host. The lobby shows the room code, invite link, connected players, selected card edition, timer settings, and the control used to start the game.

The room exists only for the current game session. Players do not create user accounts, public profiles, or permanent friend lists. A host who leaves the lobby can transfer ownership, and an empty lobby is removed automatically.

Invite the other players

Share either the room code or the invite link. A player using the link only needs to enter a nickname because the code is already included. A player joining from the home page enters both the code and a nickname. The lobby roster updates as players arrive.

Each person should use a separate phone or browser. Private roles and the secret answer are sent to the relevant player only, so one shared display cannot replace the individual game pages. Voice conversation may still take place in the same room or in a separate call.

  • No registration or download is required.
  • The invite link already contains the room code.
  • Every player joins with a separate game screen.

Choose the answer edition

The host chooses the full or short answer edition before the game begins. The full edition includes the complete explanation written for the card. The short edition keeps the central fact and removes some supporting detail. The same choice remains in use for the whole room.

The edition changes what the Truth-Knower reads and what everyone sees after reveal. It does not change the question or the three direction tags. If a card has no separate short text, the room uses its full answer for that card.

Choose whether to use timers

Card view, discussion, and guessing have separate timer controls. They are all off when a room is first created. The host may turn on only the phases the group wants to limit and can set their values before starting the game.

When a timer is off, the host moves the game forward with the phase control. When a timer is on, the site moves forward at the configured limit. A guessing timer that ends without a submitted choice records a no-answer result and applies the current score rule.

Start and manage the game

The start control becomes available when the lobby has enough connected players. At the beginning of each round, the site assigns one Thinker, one Truth-Knower, and the remaining players as Bluffers. The host does not choose the roles or the topic card.

The host may skip a topic card during the permitted phase. A replacement card is drawn while the role assignment stays the same. Lobby controls also allow the host to remove a player or transfer ownership to another connected player.

Finish the game or open another room

After each reveal, players may read the answer before opening the scoreboard. The host starts the next round. At the end of the configured number of rounds, the results page shows the final scores and winner using the game record stored for that room.

Players may return to the home page and create a new room at any time. A player who explicitly leaves releases that guest session. Rooms that remain idle beyond the retention period are removed together with their temporary player and round records.

The host controls the room, not the answers

Hosting consists of creating the lobby, choosing the available settings, and moving the group between phases. The site selects the card, assigns the roles, limits access to the answer, and calculates the score.
