Library statistics and categories
The current cold-knowledge library contains 1,790 aligned concepts. The figures below describe the collection in aggregate so readers can understand its shape without receiving a public map of each card’s true direction or hidden answer.
The current count
There are 1,790 concepts in the current family, with the same concept set in all three supported locales. The public website publishes 24 complete samples; those samples are excluded from hosted-room draws because their answers are already readable, leaving 1,766 concepts eligible for ordinary draws.
The count refers to concepts, not translations. A Hong Kong, Taiwan, and English rendering of one concept counts once in this figure, so locale pages do not triple the library total.
Card shapes
The reviewed family contains 1,699 tagged opaque topics and 91 open topics. Opaque topics use three directions to create plausible branches; open topics name a shared subject and leave the uncommon property for discussion.
The two shapes are measured separately because a missing direction on an open topic is intentional. Treating every card as if it had the same structure would make the count look cleaner while misdescribing the actual game content.
Difficulty distribution
Difficulty is scored from 1 to 3 in the active ruleset. The current distribution is 144 concepts at difficulty 1, 633 at difficulty 2, and 1,013 at difficulty 3.
Difficulty is a ruleset input used for scoring and is not a promise about how any particular group will find a card. Familiarity, language, and the quality of the discussion can change the experience.
Editorial categories
The library spans 51 true-answer categories, including medicine, architecture, folklore, cuisine, military history, craft, psychology, biology, engineering, physics, and many others. These categories help editors balance new batches and find repeated subjects.
A direction label can appear as a correct category on one card and as a plausible alternative on another. Category totals therefore describe editorial coverage, not a player-facing answer key.
| Category | Concepts |
|---|---|
| Medicine | 86 |
| Architecture | 73 |
| Folklore | 67 |
| Cuisine | 63 |
| Military | 57 |
| Craft | 57 |
What the balance checks mean
For the 1,699 tagged topics, each direction label is kept within an aggregate true-rate band of about 0.25 to 0.45, with the three true positions close to one third each. The purpose is to prevent a label or position from becoming a shortcut.
The rate is computed from a private editorial record and reported here only as a collection measurement. No page publishes which label is true for any specific concept.
Limits of these figures
The statistics are a snapshot of the authored pack, not a claim that all players know the same facts or that every topic appears equally often in rooms. Draws also depend on room history and the cards already used in that room.
When a card is corrected, retired, or newly reviewed, the figures can change. The dated updates page records those structural changes so this page can be read with the right time context.
Counts explain shape, not hidden answers
Aggregate statistics make the size and balance of the library inspectable while preserving the uncertainty that makes a round playable. The complete answers remain limited to the authorised game phase or the deliberate 24-card sample collection.
